Samsung’s been busy lately giving their phones a full makeover. If you thought One UI 7 looked good, One UI 8 steps it up even more and one of the first apps showing off this new design is the Samsung Internet browser.
When you open the new Samsung Internet, the first thing you’ll notice is the homepage. It’s no longer just a boring solid background now there’s a fresh new background image (even though customizing it still seems a little hit or miss). The whole layout feels cleaner, with more breathing room around everything. It’s less cluttered, easier to look at, and way more modern.

You’ll also see a carousel of your recently visited websites from any devices linked to your Samsung Account. Plus, you can now move the search bar to the top or bottom of the screen, depending on what feels right for you. And the little touches, like the soft blur effect behind menus and the Privacy Report, just make it look even smoother.
Here’s the cool part: you don’t need a brand-new Galaxy phone to get it.
Thanks to a neat little trick shared by @thatjoshguy over on X (formerly Twitter), anyone with an Android phone can unlock the fresh new design.
Here’s what you do:
First, grab the latest Samsung Internet APK make sure you download it from a trusted source like APKMirror. Install it on your phone (you might have to allow apps from unknown sources if you haven’t done that before).
Once you’ve got the app installed, open it up and type this into the address bar: internet://debug
That will open a hidden debug menu. Tap the little three-line menu button, go into Settings, and scroll way down until you see Debug Settings. From there, go into Main View Settings, and flip on the option for New GUI.
That’s it! You’ll instantly be switched over to the brand-new One UI 8 layout for Samsung Internet.

Honestly, it looks and feels like a big step up. The design is way more modern, it’s easier on the eyes, and overall just a way nicer experience and you don’t have to wait months for an official update to get it.
Big thanks to @thatjoshguy for finding and sharing this awesome tweak.
If you’re someone who loves trying out new stuff early, this one’s definitely worth a few minutes to set up.
