⚙️ What is HyperOS GSI?
HyperOS is Xiaomi’s latest Android operating system, which supplants MIUI. It’s smooth, clean, and full of special features. A GSI is a system image with altered settings to boot on any Project Treble device, such as your Exynos 9810 phone.
Before You Start
This guide pertains to the Exynos 9810 products only (Note 9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S9).
You need to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery such as TWRP.
Back up your data completely repartitioning will erase it.
Download all required files beforehand.
Flash HyperOS 2.2 on Galaxy S9/S9+/Note 9 (Exynos 9810)
- Repartition Your Device,To flash the GSI, you need at least 7GB of system space.
- Flash Repartitioner file under TWRP.
- Right after, flash the Repartitioner Cleaner.
- This will remove internal storage and wipe all partitions.
System Repartitioner 7GB
Download Repartitioner Cleaner
- Convert data to EXT4
In TWRP:Tap Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Data > Select Repair or Change File System - Tap Change File System, and select EXT4.
Flash PE+ BSP ROM or Vendor
- Note 9 BSP ROM
- S9 Plus BSP ROM
- S9 BSP ROM
- Flash it via TWRP as a regular ROM.
Flash the HyperOS GSI
- Download the HyperOS 2.2 GSI image and flash it in TWRP.
- Select the “Install Image” option and select System Image partition.
- Flash a Permissive Kernel
- To boot properly, your device requires a permissive kernel. (Apollo Kernel)
Make sure the kernel is permissive, otherwise the GSI will not boot.
Flashing DFE v2 for Exynos
- Flash the DFE v2 (Exynos Version) in TWRP to disable encryption. Download Here
Flash the GSI Patch
- Install the GSI Patch to resolve the compatibility problems. Download Here
Optional: Root Your Device
You can flash: Magisk – for systemless root
GSI Patches: Fix UI & Enable Features
To fix display problems and enable features like the flashlight switch, notification LED, and Always-On Display (AOD) : Download the overlay folder
Copy it into system_root/product/ with: TWRP File Manager (in recovery) MT Manager (if rooted)
