So, you just updated your Samsung phone to One UI 7, and suddenly, your battery life is acting weird. Maybe your Galaxy S22 or S23 doesn’t last as long, or it heats up more than usual.
You’re not imagining things this is something many users are facing right now. But don’t worry, there are some easy fixes you can try right now to get your phone back in shape.
The first thing that helped me (and a bunch of other users) was using this awesome little app from Samsung called Nice Catch. You’ll find it in the Galaxy Store. Once you install and open it, just turn on all the tracking options. This app quietly works in the background and tells you which apps are vibrating your phone, waking it up, or doing things without you even knowing. After a few hours or a day of letting it run, check the logs. It’ll show you which apps are too active those are often the reason your battery is draining fast.
After finding the misbehaving apps, I installed another Samsung tool called Battery Guardian (Download From Here). It’s also available in the Galaxy Store and is made to help your battery last longer. It’s kind of like a smart assistant for your battery. Once you open it, you can turn on options that keep apps from running too much in the background, and it even puts your phone in power-saving mode automatically while you sleep. That little change alone made a huge difference for me overnight no more waking up to a hot phone and 30% battery drop.

Another trick that can really help is clearing out your phone’s system cache. This isn’t the same as deleting files or photos it just gets rid of leftover stuff from the update that could be causing problems. If you’re using a phone like the Galaxy S22 or anything newer, start by turning it off completely. Then hold the Volume Up and Power button at the same time while plugging the phone into a pc or another android phone until you see the Samsung logo. From there, you’ll enter a recovery menu where you can select an option called “Wipe cache partition.” Once you confirm it and restart your phone, you’ll probably notice it running smoother and cooler.
If none of this helps or you just want Samsung to know something’s wrong you should definitely use the Samsung Members app. You’ll find it pre-installed on your phone. When you open it, tap the plus icon and go to “Error Reports,” then choose “Battery” and explain what’s happening. You can even let the app collect logs in the background to give Samsung more details. The more people report it, the faster they can fix it in the next update.

So yeah, fixing One UI 7 battery drain doesn’t mean you have to reset your phone or go crazy changing every setting. It’s mostly about understanding what’s running in the background, stopping apps from draining power when you’re not using them, and doing a little cleanup to help the system breathe. These simple steps made a real difference for me and they should help you too.
